The most visible gates of La Pedrera are the main access gates on Passeig de Gràcia, made of wrought iron and glass. Antoni Gaudí conceived the gates as a functional as well an ornamental element. Inspired by nature, he created a set of irregular shapes that create a grid of small, protected glass at the bottom and larger, more luminous glass at the top. Functionality and aesthetics come together. The large door has three parts: the central part, the highest part, where cars would enter, and the two side parts for people.
